There was a piece today on DumbLittleMan about building the ideal atmosphere. I got up and glanced around our workplace after finishing the piece. We’ve been here for a little more than a year, and I believe everyone is more happier and more productive here.
It’s a full-on orange day!
We’re standing in front of only one of the structures where we worked. There were three structures in all, but one of them was divided into three large rooms. There was a lack of space, and half of the offices lacked natural light.
It was like going from the cellar to the penthouse when we relocated.
Here’s a look inside our new offices (I say new, but they’ll be two years old in July!)
The whole workplace is made up of windows, and everyone is divided into teams; that’s the customer service team in the front, with the web development team in the next bullpin over.
Communication increased, smiles brightened, laughing was shared around more often, and in overall, the shift resulted in a more unified working atmosphere.
Alex at DLM mentions sunshine, flowers, laughter, integrity, and respect as some of the essential elements for a pleasant and successful workplace, and I believe we have all of those elements in plenty here at PAS.
